SSD oder HDD (Festplatte)?
IT-Technik Klimt empfiehlt die Nutzung einer SSD. Die sogenannte „Solid State Disk“ ist rasend schnell, unempfindlich gegen Stöße, geräuschlos und produziert weniger Abwärme. Eine SSD ist mit einem USB-Stick bzw. einer SD Karte aus einer Digitalkamera vergleichbar.
Eine Festplatte bzw. HDD „Hard Disc Drive“ besitzt mechanische Köpfe auf rotierenden Platten, diese Köpfe müssen erst zu den entsprechenden Daten fahren. Wenn Daten an verschiedenen Orten auf der Festplatte liegen kann der Lesevorgang extrem langsam vorangehen, dies erzeugt das typische „Rattern“. Bildlich kann man sich das ganze wie einen Schallplattenspieler vorstellen. Festplatten eigenen sich weiterhin zur Archivierung von Daten da viel Speicherplatz für wenig Geld geboten wird.
